Thomas’ characters are wonderful and colorful,
and readers will enjoy Dexter’s struggle to do
the honorable thing-- Pat Cooper

For This Cowboy, Family Comes First

Josie Charles was back in town, and Dexter Cody desired her as much as ever. She was his twin brother’s girl, but it was hard to act honorable when all he wanted was to stake his claim on the woman and her boy. Sooner or later, his brother was going to step up and do the right thing. And when that time came, would Dexter be able to step aside and lose Josie all over again?

No way was Josie losing her heart to the sexy-as-all-get-out rancher. The last thing the single mother needed was another Cody messing with her life. But her high school pal had sure grown into one fine-looking cowboy. Caring. Hardworking. Responsible. Exactly the kind of man she’d want to be a father to her son.

Which one is the right brother? Looks as if there’s going to be a showdown...

Here's What Readers are Saying

"All the side characters are developing nicely. I'm enjoying the Cody's series and can't wait to see who bites the dust next. This is a great second book!" ~ Linda S  www.eharlequin.com

"I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I was totally engrossed in it. I cared for all of the characters except Dusty and his dad. I really hope Dusty gets his when love comes his way. Their dad is one hard headed sob and I hope his secret is coming out in a later book." ~ Miacroix54  www.eharlequin.com

What famous Wild West Judge was "claimed to"

  1. Have had a pet bear in his courtroom?
  2. Have said…"Hang 'em first, try 'em later"
  3. Had named his saloon and town after the love of his life Lily Langtry, a British actress he'd never met
  4. And called himself the "Law West of the Pecos"
Answer: JUDGE ROY BEAN

Although many colorful characters have become legends of the Old West, "Hanging Judge Roy Bean," who held court sessions in his saloon along the Rio Grande River in a desolate stretch of the Chihuahuan Desert of West Texas, remains one of the more fascinating.

According to the myth, Roy Bean named his saloon and town after the love of his life, Lily Langtry, a British actress he'd never met. Calling himself the "Law West of the Pecos," he is reputed to have kept a pet bear in his courtroom and sentenced dozens to the gallows, saying "Hang 'em first, try 'em later."

Roy Bean was born in Mason County, Kentucky about 1825. Some records suggest Roy Bean was born in 1823. At age 15 he left home to follow two older brothers west seeking adventure. With Brother Sam, he joined a wagon train into New Mexico, then crossed the Rio Grande and set up a trading post in Chihuahua, Mexico. After killing a local hombre, Roy fled to California, to stay with his brother Joshua, who would soon become the first mayor of San Diego.
